Experience the Arts Day at Ohio University – event and audition for high school students:
During Experience the Arts Day, experience for yourself the vibrant community of artists, performers, educators and scholars that make up OHIO’s Chaddock + Morrow College of Fine Arts. Choose from a full day of in-depth artistic offerings like a facilities tours, workshops, class observations, student performances and faculty meet and greets!
High school seniors who sign up for Experience the Arts Day have exclusive access to an audition that counts towards the admission application in the School of Dance.

The Dancing Wheels Company is seeking dancers for the 2025/26 season.
Preferred candidates should be proficient in stylized techniques (such as ballet and modern), have a unique quality of movement, possess skills for partnering, and be able to work collaboratively and improvisationally. Candidates must be strong and athletic and willing to train in any style or genre of dance. Potential wheelchair dancers must have excellent wheelchair mobility skills.
Dancers must be able to travel to perform nationwide and internationally and work full-time. Workdays (when not on tour) are Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM. The pay scale is commensurate with experience; paid holidays and vacation time are included.
The Dancing Wheels Company will audition dancers upon an advanced-arrangement, private audition basis.
Audition Date: A private audition must be scheduled in advance.

The Dancing Wheels Company, America’s first professional, physically integrated dance company, is a repertory-based touring company that works with highly acclaimed choreographers each year. Most recent works include pieces by noted choreographers Alexis Diggs, Amy Hall Garner, Catherine Meredith, Tiffany Mills, Staycee Pearl, David Roussève, Laura Ann Smyth, Mark Tomasic, and internationally renowned choreographers Donald Byrd, Donald McKayle, and Dianne McIntyre. The full ensemble trains together as stand-up and sit-down (wheelchair) dancers in an equitable and accessible environment, giving equal opportunity for training and employment for all.

If available, include a link to a YouTube or Vimeo video excerpt of a recent performance or class (filmed within the last 12 months). In ensemble work, please indicate your position in the performance.

In order to give us time to prepare for your audition we ask that you complete the Ohio State Graduate Admission/Dance Audition application by October 1, 2025.
In-person audition events will be in November by invitation only. Applicants will be notified by October 20, 2025, if they are invited to audition. We are currently planning for an in-person audition process on November 17 and 18, 2025.
