Ballet Legato


Ballet Legato is searching for dancers for two Summer/Fall 2021 project based performances.
Dancers from Ballet Legato and E. John Busser Ballet Scholarship recipients will be collaborating on a re-imagined virtual outdoor performance of the famed ballet “Swan Lake”. This 4-5 minute original project-based performance, will be rehearsed late July and filmed in two days, early August shared via YouTube and other media outlets.

8-16 Dancers:

Ages 16 & Up
Advanced dancers, male or female with strong ballet technique
Must be able to be present during scheduled rehearsals and performance taping
Projected Rehearsals:
Two Weeks: 4 hours twice per week for a total of 16 hours
2 Day mornings of video-taping, Up to 4 hours each day. Food and refreshments provided
A small amount of dancing will be filmed in the water
Costumes and nude masks to be provided.
Dancers must be able to learn choreography and stylized movements quickly
Professional attitude a must
Late July/Early August

9-13 Dancers:

Ages 16 & Up
Advanced dancers, male or female with strong ballet and or contemporary technique
Must be able to be present during scheduled rehearsals and performance taping or live performance

Inlet Dance Theatre Auditions

Auditions for: Trainee, Protege, Apprentice, & Company B Member positions for the 2020-2021 Season
In light of COVID-19 and keeping our dancers and you safe during this time, Inlet Dance Theatre will not be holding
in-person auditions this summer. However, we still are taking applications for our upcoming 2020-2021
season (beginning on Sept 8th), and will review each application as they come in.
We are looking for professionals and students who are teachable, willing, and able to assimilate into our
organizational culture and aesthetic. Inlet, internationally recognized for “…using dance to further people”, is
a contemporary dance company with roots in American Modern Dance with a technical base grounded in Hawkinsbased release technique, Pilobolus based nontraditional partnering, and a collaborative creative process that relies on improvisation skills. Inlet is equally strong in education programming as it is in performing
concert and special event work. The company seeks highly skilled dance artists with a desire to educate as well

Verb Ballets

Verb Ballets has 30+-year history as one of Northeast Ohio’s most respected dance companies. The company performs a mix of classical and contemporary works by an array of choreographers. Under the leadership of Dr. Margaret Carlson, former principal dancer for Cleveland Ballet, and Richard Dickinson, MFA, former soloist with Boston Ballet and Ohio Ballet, the company is committed to the mounting of dance works of the highest caliber. The company recently moved into a new home just minutes from downtown Cleveland. Verb Ballets has toured internationally and maintains as an international partnership with Laura Alonso’s ProDanza of Cuba.

Verb Ballets offers 10 month paid contracts, one-week paid vacation, FICA, company classes, worker’s compensation insurance, shoe allowance and physical therapy through the Cleveland Clinic. Relocation assistance is available.
