Since 1976, OhioDance has been an inclusive umbrella for dancers, choreographers, dance companies of all sizes and styles, and dance educators in studios, schools, and colleges and universities throughout the state.
OhioDance sustains its extensive programs, publications, and annual festival primarily through membership fees from individuals and organizations.
Please fill out the 2016 membership flier with payment and we will mail you a confirmation form. Or you can pay with a credit card through our PayPal account by clicking on the individual or organization tab at the top (a small processing fee will be charged).
As an OhioDance member, you’ll receive our quarterly online newsletter full of information on performances, workshops, funding, and job opportunities, as well as features on dance education, arts issues, and dancer activities around the state. The statewide Membership dance directory and resource guide online is your link to individuals, companies, studios, schools, college/university programs, and state and national arts resources.
At OhioDance’s annual festival you can meet with dance colleagues and enjoy a smorgasbord of classes, roundtables, workshops, and performances representing the state’s broad and diverse dance field. Regional children’s dance festivals help dance studios and school programs share their work and reach young audiences.
Support for the Dance Community
OhioDance is your representative for dance at the state level. In partnership with such organizations as the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education and Ohio Citizens for the Arts, OhioDance creates a strong voice for dance in education and legislation. OhioDance has represented the field in the development of teacher certification, the state arts curriculum, and the Dance Educators Resource Guide on the web. Let your voice be heard by joining your colleagues in our network of mutual support.
Networking and Professional Development
OhioDance roundtables for dance educators, choreographers, and performers build systems for ongoing networking and provide a forum for discussing issues. Professional development seminars are offered in cooperation with other Ohio arts organizations on special topics such as dancers with disabilities or emerging technologies.
