Designed to get kids back in shape for classes in the fall, this Boot Camp is offered at two levels with Pointe as the upper level. Ballet Beginning, ages 8-11, is for those with beginning ballet experience. Ballet Beginning will take place from 4:30-6:00PM, the complete course is $159, the course per week is $60. Ballet Intermediate/Advanced, ages 12+, is for those with int/adv experience. Ballet Intermediate/Advanced will take place 6:00-7:00PM – Technique Class, 7:30-8:30PM – Pointe Class. The complete course is $159, the complete course with Pointe is $255, the course per week is $60, and the course per week with Pointe is $85.

CINCINNATI BALLET’S SUMMER INTENSIVE

Cincinnati Ballet’s Summer Intensive is specially designed for the serious ballet student with professional aspirations. Featuring international guest faculty, the program helps students maximize their progress, strength and development through an immersion process that includes full days of dance. Cincinnati Ballet’s rigorous curriculum focuses on both the technical and artistic aspects of proper ballet technique, execution and expression while enhancing versatility in other dance genres including jazz, modern, character, composition and contemporary ballet. Partnering and men’s classes are also part of the core curriculum for all levels as well as Pilates for the development of core strength. Cincinnati Ballet offers an exceptional combination of high quality instruction and personal attention which will take each student to new levels of excellence. Class size is limited to 25 students.

MONICA BILL BARNES founded MBB&CO in 1997 with the mission to celebrate individuality, humor and the innate theatricality of everyday life. Her work has been performed in venues ranging from Upright Citizen’s Brigade to Carnegie Hall and has been presented in more than 75 cities throughout the US.  Current projects include a collaborative show with radio host Ira Glass that combines radio stories and dance, Three Acts, Two Dancers, One Radio Host, a choreographed exercise tour of The Metropolitan Museum of Art called The Museum Workout created in collaboration with artist and author Maira Kalman, and Happy Hour, the world’s only karaoke office party turned dance show, and the company’s first long-running show with recurring performances in NYC and tours around the country.

Thursday – Friday w/SHANNON BRAMHAM (In partnership with DANCECleveland)

SHANNON BRAMHAM, originally from Virginia, graduated with her BFA in Dance Performance from East Carolina University.  She joined Koresh Dance Company in 2008.  Currently, in addition to dancing as a senior member of the Company, Shannon manages Koresh Dance Company’s robust touring educational and outreach program, leading many of the KDC’s programs offered on tour.  In addition, she is among the few dancers chosen to regularly set Koresh choreography.  Shannon is also regularly invited to teach and set her own work.  Recent locations include Wright State University, South Dayton Dance Theater, Highpoint University, We are Artists, East Carolina University, and Nina’s School of Dance.  Her work has also been showcased at ACDFA and RDA. Shannon currently teaches adults at the Koresh School of Dance.

The American Dance Festival (ADF) in Cleveland Workshop Series Presented By DANCECleveland in Collaboration with American Dance Festival, and Cleveland State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance is a four day workshop comprised of modern, contemporary, hip hop, creative process and repertory classes for professional and intermediate to advanced level dancers ages 16 and up. The workshop provides time and space for dancers to immerse themselves in their training while enjoying the festival activities and live dance performances that ADF & DANCECleveland will be offering during the week-long festival, which takes place July 29th– August 5th in the CLE. theatre district.

The Dancing Wheels Company & School will be offering a one-week Adult Summer Intensive Workshop for dancers 15 years and older. Dancers, teachers and dance aficionados from around the world join together to gain an understanding and hands on practicum in the methodologies of physically integrated dance taught only by the Dancing Wheels Company.  This year, special guest artist/choreographer James Morrow will infuse his unique dance vocabulary and choreographic work creating an opportunity for participants to explore elements of modern, contemporary and urban dance styles. There will be a showing at 1:30 p.m. followed by a reception on Friday, June 24, 2016. Students will perform works they have learned and created and may invite family and friends to attend. Tuition is $275 for one week, a $50 non-refundable deposit is due by June 1, 2017. Gibney Dance Company’s weeklong summer intensive is geared toward professional and pre-professional dancers who are interested in engaging with the Company’s multifaceted perspectives on contemporary dance technique, creative process, and art as activism.

The Company’s Summer Intensive will focus on enhancing technical ability, challenging physical artistry, and developing contemporary partnering expertise. Additionally, a strong focus will be placed on providing dancers with the necessary tools to propel their careers as entrepreneurial citizens in our world.

Sessions will be facilitated by members of Gibney Dance Company, each known as Artistic Associates: Nigel Campbell, Kassandra Cruz, Devin Oshiro, and Brandon Welch along with Associate Artistic Director Amy Miller.

Experience a holistic yet rigorous approach to Modern technique. Begin with therapeutic floor work that builds connections within the body, increases strength and flexibility, and creates clarity throughout the body. Center work challenges dancers to use their weight with both suspension and release while maintaining alignment through the spine, legs, and feet. A range of tempos and meters will increase musicality and expression. Class ends in a full-bodied and fun combination!

Modern Dance:  Mind- Body Connection (6 weeks)

Connect to your body and your creative impulses! Class begins with therapeutic floor work and conditioning exercises, then continues with dance phrases and guided improvisations. Somatic practices like Bartenieff Fundamentals, Alexander Technique, body-mapping and visualization, and Pilates increase bodily self-awareness, coordination, and mindfulness.

Inlet’s SDI ’17 is an aggressive 6.5 week training program for ages 12 through young adult. Toledo Ballet announces its Summer Intensives
Toledo Ballet welcomes Miami City Ballet principal dancers Renato Penteado and Tricia Albertson as well as ballet legend and former principal of National Ballet of Finland Soili Arvola as guest teachers during its ballet summer intensives. Also offered is the musical theatre intensive conducted by TB artistic / school director Lisa Mayer and resident director and choreographer Michael Lang as they bring their years of musical theatre on Broadway and international experience to TB studios. This year’s musical theatre focus will be Legally Blonde. The three ballet intensive guests will offer advanced level training (ABT© levels 5-7), and will also teach a class for advanced beginning / intermediate I (ABT© levels 3 and 4) during the week. Ms. Arvola will teach June 19 – 23; Mr. Penteado will teach July 17-21; Ms. Albertson will teach July 24-28. Ms. Mayer and Mr. Lang will conduct their Legally Blonde musical theatre intensive July 10-14 and is open to young performers ages 11-18. Founded in 1939, Toledo Ballet has the longest running annual production of Nutcracker in the entire country.
