Come learn the authentic dance of the 1930's and 1940's that was
shaped by the changing music and values of this period in history.
The dance originated in the ballrooms of Harlem, back in the late
1920s and is a combination of Black Bottom, Blues, Charleston, Balboa
and Collegiate Shag. Sometimes known as the Jitterbug, Lindy Hop
can be a crazy, acrobatic style used for exhibitions and at the
same time quietly rhythmic and subtle...but enjoyed by dancers of
all levels. Mark and Shannon, of The Lindyroos remain true to the
roots of these swing era dances and are dedicated to preserving
and teaching the dances that were "the cats meow" back
in the swing era.
