BOOMERANG & Double-Edge Dance

Kora Radella is the choreographer and co-artistic director of BOOMERANG and Double-Edge Dance. Noted for her use of “awkward grace,” Radella researches being on the edge of control, pushing both physical and psychological boundaries. Radella received a 2014 Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award and was a 2016 recipient of a Yaddo artist residency. Her primary teaching interests include contemporary dance technique she calls “Riding Resilience,” improvisation, and choreography. Radella is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Kenyon College and a certified yoga teacher.
BOOMERANG is a daringly physical, poetically-nuanced dance company created in 2012 by co-artistic directors Matty Davis and Kora Radella with founding member Adrian Galvin. Their work has been presented in Ohio at Playhouse Square, Cleveland Public Theatre, and Kenyon College; in NYC at venues including 92Y, Danspace Project, Dixon Place, Judson Church, Center for Performance Research, Roulette, and the United Nations; in Chicago at Links Hall, Steppenwolf, and the Museum of Contemporary Art; in other cities including Grand Rapids, Miami, and Pittsburgh as well as internationally in Barcelona, Berlin, and Paris. They are keen to present their work in a wide variety of theaters and alternative spaces, from parks to vineyards, the streets to the mountains, museums, and within university and K-12 contexts.
Double-Edge Dance is a contemporary music and dance company Kora Radella co-founded in 1993 with composer/saxophonist Ross Feller. Their work has been performed in cities including Aberdeen, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Basel, Berlin, Brussels, Cleveland, Columbus, London, and New York City. Double-Edge Dance has been based in Ohio for the last dozen years and has, in that time period, shown work at Cleveland Public Theatre, Cleveland’s Playhouse Square, Columbus Dance Theatre, BalletMet, the Ingenuity Festival of Cleveland, Kent State University, Oberlin College, and OhioDance Festivals, as well as in NYC at 100 Grand, Movement Research, and Roulette.
